Tip #4 - The Importance of Domain Names - A domain name is the what you see when you type most web site addresses for their home page. The domain for this website, for example, is www.adaptivecampus.com. If you were going to optimize your website for "Online Marketing Degree", your organization or institution website will have a hard time competing with www.online-marketing-degree.edu (or .com, .net, .biz, and other extensions for that matter). Using domains with your key phrase in the domain name can do wonders for your search engine optimization efforts, but it is probably the most difficult task for most higher education and other education related non-profit organizations to implement. This is the case for the overwhelming majority of education related organizations. You should definitely keep this in mind if you are considering a re-launch of a web site or a new web site.
